    Electroconvulsive therapy

    Electroconvulsive therapy involves your therapist placing electrodes on your head to deliver electrical shocks in your brain, which induce a short-term seizure. This therapy helps reduce symptoms in patients with severe depression. It is a safe procedure without complications.
