How to Achieve Your Goals and Dreams
There are things we have done in my life that we are proud of, and there are other things we have attempted and failed at. However, we have come to understand that there are 10 fundamental rules I must follow if I want to achieve anything of significance and satisfaction.
Clarify your goals and the extent to which you wish to achieve them.
More specificity is always preferable since it shows that you understand something well. Make sure everything is documented. Display it proudly in your home or workplace. Set a specific date by which you wish to have accomplished your objective. So what do what you set your mind to?
Make sure your motivation is strong enough.
When you set your sights on a lofty, challenging goal, you’ll need a strong drive to see it through. Getting where you want to go isn’t a cakewalk, and you may have moments of doubt and discouragement along the route. If you really want to succeed, you will put in the time and effort required to achieve your goals. Then and only then can you hope to achieve your goals.
Think about what you want to achieve and the reward you’ll give yourself if you do.
There is always some kind of payoff or advantage waiting for you at the end of the road if you work hard enough. To succeed in your endeavours, to be recognised for your efforts, to climb the professional ladder, or to realise any other dream of yours is entirely within your reach. How proud will you make your parents, in addition to yourself? Are you going to get to travel? Is there a possibility you might meet with a certain individual? What about surprising a loved one with a brand-new car? How soon do you anticipate being able to pay off your home loan?
It’s important to remember that underneath all of the material possessions are genuine feelings and emotions. You want to lift your spirits. You have an insatiable need for the positive emotions of exhilaration, satisfaction, and fulfilment. You feel good about giving a gift because you hope the recipient will appreciate it as much as you do. You have every right to feel proud of yourself if you finally manage to pay off your mortgage. Making one’s parents pleased is one of life’s greatest achievements, and the pride they feel is indescribable.
Envision yourself as having already attained your goal and relishing in the rewards of your success.
Think out what will happen when you have succeeded. If all your dreams come true at once, how would you feel? When will this happen, and how?
Are you anticipating any particular feelings as a result?
When you can imagine what you’ll feel and how you’ll respond, and construct that mental picture in your mind, it will be lot easier to achieve that goal. Maintain a regular practise of visualising this, and try to be as specific as you can. Maybe you’d want to read it while you’re in the shower or in bed before turning in for the night.
